Looks like it was a very productive month, Sara. No wonder it felt busy! Some beautiful work there. I like the triptych a lot. Hope your March doesn't go by so quickly.
I’ve been well, Sara. Busy working on a zine about the occupation. Was just thinking about you this morning as I rinsed out the mug I got from you. Life in the Twin Cities has become saner and calmer as ICE redirects its efforts to the suburbs and outstate areas. They still have a much larger than average presence here in Minnesota, and there are new black Chevy Tahoe SUVs (their vehicle of choice) arriving by the dozen to ICE headquarters in St. Paul. The oppression feels very real but the threat level has lessened.
I remember now briefly seeing this comment but I didn't check it immediately and then it disappeared on the phone and I wasn't sure what it meant :D ...
It’s just lovely to see your pottery Sara, and know that you kiln is working it’s little heart out for you again 🤍🤍
Thank you for being here, Emily!
I'll have fired pieces to share soon!
We throw clay to shape a pot,
But the utility of the clay pot is a function of the nothingness inside it.
We bore out doors and windows to make a dwelling,
But the utility of the dwelling is a function of the nothingness inside it.
Thus, it might be something (you) that provides the value,
But it is nothing that provides the utility.
- Dao De Jing
This is a fascinating quote that gave me pause...
"it is nothing that provides the utility" - I keep staring at and re-reading that sentence.
Thank you for your comment.
Yes, it’s so great.

It's already flying by!
But the kiln is on - looking forward to opening it in a couple of days.
How are things where you are? There hasn't been much in the news recently. Hope you are keeping well and safe.

Happy that things have calmed down though really it looks like it's not over, unfortunately.
I look forward to seeing your zine!
Gosto muito dos pratos redondos! O “livro desdobrável” (não sei se devo chamá-lo assim) é espantoso! Uma bela execução de de uma bela ideia.
These are all lovely! Yes, I'm having the same feeling about the vegetable seeds...
Thank you, Tamsin! They are now in the kiln 🤞🏽
I have now sowed some broadbeans - bare minimum. Not sure what's going on with me this year. There will be no tomatoes, that's for sure.
I'm featuring one of your unfired platters in my next essay/post!

Now I know! Thank you so much, Tamsin!
