Sara, I hope your husband continues to heal. The body takes its own good time which is not easy to bear for either of you. So glad you have each other's love and care.
Also, I want to thank you for the beautiful pendant--what a surprise! The Elderflower design and color are definitely something I would choose. I will think of you every time I wear it.
Thank you for your work here and sending much love to you and your family 💛
Thank you, Emily! I am torn between eating to go and leaving my husband at this time, but he is finally getting better and, though still moving rather slow, he is up on his feet and taking short walks and I think he is actually looking forward to not having everyone fussing over him ;)
Thank you, Rachel! It hasn't been the easiest of Summers but we are lucky - my husband is improving and things will soon be back to normal. Hugs to you too. 💙
Hi Veronika! It's so lovely to see a comment from you again! I have thought of you over the past few months, I was wondering if you were still writing here - but to be honest I never checked your page.
How are you? How are you coping with the heat in Portugal? My parents were having a hard time keeping the house cool...
Thank you for reading - always. And for the good wishes.
Talvez um dia nos encontremos em Portugal para nos conhecermos em pessoa :)
It's been a difficult year. My beloved husband unexpectedly died in January, so that's been a sad reason for everything substack (and many other things) being put on hold. But now I'm writing again, and that's good.
The weather in Portugal (or our part of it) is actually very pleasant at the moment, and has been cooler in fact than France, UK or the Netherlands....
I'm going to Switzerland soon to spend a month with my daughter... and yes! We should meet in person some day. Looking forward to it already!!
Oh Veronika, I am so so sorry. Words fail me - I'm not very good with them at the best of times... Sending much love e um abraço forte.
Have a lovely time with your daughter in Switzerland. I am now at my parents', in Lisbon, and although it is much hotter than back home in Poland, it feels appropriate for this time of year. Let's hope the heat waves are done for now.
Take care.
ps: I have gone to your Substack now and read the post and your poem that you wrote back in February - it's beautiful "silence a way of speaking" - I love this line. It was good to read you were surrounded by friends and family. My thoughts are with you 🤎
thank you dear Sara, for your sweet words and the wave of love I feel from between the lines... ✨🌊 🩷
Yes I am fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful community of loving people, including some very precious Portuguese friends, who feel like family 🙏 🪶🪽
So sorry you've had a difficult time, Sara. Hope your husband feels better with rest and care. You've done amazingly to be so creative with such worries! Have a wonderful holiday.
Thank you, Wendy! Things are finally really looking better (after I posted this he had to go back to hospital actually, hence my delay in answering all the comments!), he is home and, though recovery will be more difficult than we anticipated, he will be ok which is what matters.
I hope you are having a nice Summer and coping with the heat.

I am so happy to hear the pendant arrived - I wasn't sure sending "as a document" would work ;)
My husband is getting better but having to accept that, as you say "the body takes its own good time".
Much love to you, dear Ann.
💛
Wow very sorry things got sooo stressful! Hope you enjoy your break! Best wishes to you and your husband!
Thank you, Alford. Things are finally looking up - he is recovering.
I have to catch up on your dailies - how is Ana going?
Sending love. Have a wonderful time in Portugal Sara xx

The best to you (and hugs) as you both recover from this difficult time.

Uhh, this sounds seriously stressful!
As melhoras e boa viagem 💙 ⛵
