Nice! I love the idea of researching the blackbirds. The idea reminds me of Native American religion and beliefs .A few great books were Black Elk Speaks and Fools Crow

by Thomas E. Mails. I also love what is happening with your slab tiles! You have a really nice color pallet!

Thank you! The colours are currently a bit all over the place and I feel like a kid who's got too many crayons... We'll see how they look after firing.

Also thank you for the titles - I will check them out.

I’m excited to see how your new pieces turn out with the slips Sara. Love the idea of a bird signalling the shape of the year ahead - I don’t know which bird I saw first this year, most likely a Robin, but the start of my year has been filled with birds, I saw a group of long tailed tits, I’ve seen blue tits and great tits and a coal tit, I saw a greater spotted woodpecker and a bull finch all on one day - I think mostly because I was paying attention. I wonder what each would signify!? Also the mosaic sounds like a wonderful project and I think I might add it to my creative bucket list!! ✨💛

Thank you, Emily! Pieces are starting to fill the shelves, so there will be a firing likely by the end of the month.

That's a LOT of birds! I would look up the meaning of all of them and pick the one that seems to fit/serve you best 😁

Bom Ano Novo, bons projectos novos!
