Dear Sara, write what is in your heart, beauty and hope shine through. And this is a beautiful post. I am glad to hear that your kiln is well and only needs a replacement part. I had a little look at your Etsy revamp and it’s lovely - as I scrolled through I saw a familiar mug, and realised that as I read this, I hold a very similar one in my hand, sipping my coffee from it 💛 it feels like you are here, sat with me for coffee in the summerhouse, sharing your hopes. I am visiting Poland, fleetingly, with work next week. I will be thinking of you and your kiln and your garden and your hopes. Much love xx
Thank you for your kind words, Emily! I can't tell you how much it means to me that you are using the mug - and what a privilege to have coffee with you!
And thank you for visiting the shop! The mug you saw on Etsy is indeed the one you are holding in your hand! I left the picture there but hopefully it's marked "sold out" - now I need to double check 🤣! Each mug is unique, I rarely make two alike. Even the elderflower one, which I can make to order because it's fairly simple to reproduce, will be different every time because I never use the same dried plants in the same order.
Oh and if you find yourself near a place called Szczecin, do let me know! I hope you enjoy your trip, even if it's for work! 🤎
It is the perfect size for my coffee 😊 We are going to Krakow, and likely will not see much more than the inside of the hotel, but I will look up Szczecin and look in your direction 💛✨
Obrigada!
I really enjoyed reading this, hearing about your life and thoughts beyond, or rather, alongside, pottery. I used to worry about coming away from my Art Pilgrim focus, writing about something more general or even unrelated. But reading this today I thought, it's OK! Especially when we do have that clear focus usually, I at least found it really nice to get this new angle on you.
Thank you, Tamsin! All the time I was writing it, I was aware that I was outside of my field of expertise, so to speak... but at the end of the day, if someone doesn't want to read what you write on a particular day, then they don't have to.
I still see a lot of advice on Notes about finding a niche, or asking your subscribers what they would like to read... it's a road to nowhere, in my opinion. You can never please everyone, and if you ask people, each one will say something different 😄... Write what you feel like writing, it's the only way.
Totally agree. I saw a Note here the other day about C.S. Lewis's advice on writing, one of the things was 'write about what interests you'.... Asking people what they want you to write about is a contemporary Internet business approach that makes no sense to me in any way.
enjoying your posts very much; please write what your soul comes up with each time! :)
It makes me very happy to hear that! Thank you so much! 🤎

Ah, Krakow is very far from us. It's a nice city - you should try to at least take a walk along the river and go see the dragon 😃
We’ve been saying it since the 60’s. Make love not war. A simple phrase, but more pertinent than ever. I appreciate your words.
Indeed. Should be obvious, no? And yet, it isn't...
Thank you for reading and taking the time to leave a comment. It means a lot.
Yes, yes, yes! Lovely words and thoughts!
☺️ Thank you, Rachel!
This is such a moving and vital post -- thank you
Thank you so much for reading, Jan! 🤎
Great job! Enjoyed reading this!
Thank you, Alford! Wouldn't have happened without you 😉
This is indeed a recipe for life, to trust and hope, “only after we did everything within our power to make it happen.” 💚
Thank you for stopping by, Julie! 🤎

Yes, exactly, "write about what interests you".
And, yep, that makes no sense to me either 🤷🏽♀️ but I think you nailed it: it's a "Internet business approach".
